Decay of neutron-rich Ga isotopes near N = 50 at PARRNe

The PARRNe facility has been used to produce neutron-rich isotopes ^83,84Gaby the ISOL method. Their decay has been studied, and β-γ coincidence and γ-γ coincidence data were collected as a function of time. The first two excited levels in ⁸³Ge and the first excited level in ⁸⁴Ge have been measured for the first time.     

Impacts of structural-acoustic coupling on the performance of energy density-based active sound transmission control

This paper investigates numerically the performance of the active sound transmission control into a rectangular cavity through a flexible panel under the energy density-based error-sensing algorithm. Full coupling between the sound transmitting panel and the enclosed space is considered. A pure vibration actuator, a pure acoustic source and a combined control source system are used as the secondary control source in the active control and their performances are studied. Formulae for the coupled eigenfrequencies of the cavity and the flexible panel are also derived. The strength of the structural-acoustic coupling, the ratio between the first eigenfrequencies of the cavity and the panel and the difference between the excitation frequency and the coupled eigenfrequencies, especially the latter, are found to have crucial impacts on the performance of the active control regardless the type of control source used.     

An estimate for symmetric square <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis>-functions on weight aspect

Synthesis, morphology and random laser action of ZnO nanostructures

Three-dimensional (3-D) ZnO random-wall nanostructures and one-dimensional (1-D) ZnO nanorods were prepared on silicon substrates by a simple solid-vapour phase thermal sublimation technique. Optical pumped random lasing has been observed in the ZnO random-wall arrays with a threshold intensity of 0.38 MW/cm² in the emission wavelength from 380 to 395 nm. The optical gain was attributed to the closed-loop scattering and light amplification of the ZnO random-wall. The experimental result suggests that the morphology of nanostructure is the key factor to effect random lasing.     

Barium(II)–2,4‐dinitrophenolate–18‐crown‐6 at 183 K

The title compound, bis(2,4‐dinitrophenolato‐κ²O,O′)(1,4,7,10,13,16‐hexaoxadecane‐κ⁶O)barium(II), [Ba(C₆H₃N₂O₅)₂(C₁₂H₂₄O₆)], is a 1:1 complex of barium(II)–2,4‐di­nitro­phenolate and 1,4,7,10,13,16‐hexaoxa­cyclo­octa­decane (18‐crown‐6). Its structure is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The temperature dependence of the crystal structure has been studied. The monoclinic β angle of the P2₁/­n space group increases with increasing temperature. The packing structure of the complex is stabilized by intermolecular C—H?O interactions.     

1‐Acetyl‐3′‐(4‐bromophenyl)‐3′‐chlorospiro[3H‐indole‐3,2′‐oxetan]‐2(1H)‐one

In the title compound, C₁₈H₁₃BrClNO₃, the heterocyclic ring of the indole is distorted from planarity towards an envelope conformation. The orientations of the indole, oxetane, chloro and bromo­phenyl substituents are conditioned by the sp³ states of the spiro‐junction and the Cl‐attached C atoms.     

The exterior Dirichlet problem for quasi-linear elliptic equations with small boundary data

It is shown that if the order of non-uniformity of a quasi-linear elliptic equation is h,10,2(h–1)/h norm. For 0h1,existence of a bounded solution is guaranteed without any smallness assumption on the given boundary data.More precise information is given for the special case of the minimal surface equation.
